Today I went with some of the other volunteers back to San Marcos (a small town by the lake). It was a beautiful day, we jumped off cliffs into the lake, and:
1) I found someone to bring back my ballot so that perhaps my vote will get counted.
2) I had a Tofu sandwich.
What a delight!
It seems I may be in Central America from around Christmas to January 12 with no apparent travel or work plans. Does anyone want to come meet me somewhere???

Hola Rebecca,
Sounds like you are having a wonderful time. Your new housemate will certainly be a blessing for both of you.
I like the pictures. I had no idea what Guatemala looked like.
Finally a mailing address!
Take care.
Love,
Gary
Central America for the new year? Sounds tempting... I haven't had a real vacation since I started grad school, so it could be justified. Where are you thinking of going? Also, what is the tofu like in Guatemala?
I haven't gotten my work schedule for the beginning of January yet (should be getting it soon), but if I have time off in there, I may join you somewhere. I am enjoying reading your blog and very excited to see that you are going to get your ballot in!!! Alexis
